Il nuovo peana misterico-pitagorico da Selinunte

Nuova edizione critica commentata di un carme esametrico conservato su lamina di Selinunte del V sec. a. C., attualmente al Museo Getty (Malibu). Si propone di riconoscere nel testo in questione un peana pitagorico, forma letteraria testimoniata da alcune fonti antiche, ma di cui finora non si aveva documentazione diretta.

Si cerca di dimostrare che la lirica corale è nata nel peloponneso sotto l'influenza di Terpandro, della lirica lesbica e dell'epos. Si confutano itentativi di stabilire un nesso diretto fra la lirica corale e la poesia indoeuropea. Ghiorgos Seferis (1900-1971), Nobel prize for literature in 1963, is one of the most significant poets of modern Greece. In his work he reconciles reminiscences of classical Greece with the most salient concern of contemporary poetry. Like many other writers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, Ghiorgos Seferis used various heteronyms in the course of his life. The most significant are ‘Stratis the sailor’ and ‘Mattia Pascal’. Both are rooted in the biographical events of the poet, as well as in his many cultural experiences.
